Summer and Fall Training for Marathons.

Eagle Rock, California is technically in Los Angeles. Running through Eagle Rock is Colorado Boulevard a road that extends up into Pasadena. Many of my runs take me up Colorado Boulevard and to the Rose Bowl. The Rose Bowl and the adjacent golf course has a very nice 3.1 mile loop that is popular with runners and walkers. Sometimes I will drive there with my jeep equiped with water and snacks, and I will just do loops around the Rose Bowl. Or I can run there from my home which is 4 miles from here. So a total of 8 miles plus however many loops I want to do.

Lately I’ve been exploring other routes around Eagle Rock. One of them takes me to the Eagle Rock Recreational Center. The first time I ran there was when I did the Virtual Half Marathon during the pandemic. I stopped and got water from a drinking fountain. I even took some video footage of me drinking from that fountain.

But for reasons only known by civic planners…the water fountain is gone! I managed to get water by using my hands and drining out of the men’s room sink. I know that may sound gross, but when it’s 80 degrees and one is over an hour into a run, any water is just great. Beside…what water do they use to fill up water stations during a race?

Below is a video blog montage of my running since my last marathon.
